Blue Mountain Wine Crafters

In my special topics class, I collaborated with Blue Mountain Wine Crafters—a winery in western Maryland, to rebrand their visual identity by designing a new logo and a series of wine labels. The client, aiming to update their outdated bird imagery, requested the inclusion of a hawk or other birds of prey, so I developed a modern logo featuring an eagle silhouette set against the Blue Ridge Mountains and crafted three elegant label variations to differentiate their wine tiers. I conducted thorough research on the local area and relevant bird symbolism, created sketches and digital iterations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and participated in virtual Zoom meetings with the client for feedback. Although my design was not ultimately selected, the project was a valuable learning experience in understanding the critical elements required for effective wine packaging and the regulatory considerations involved in label design.
